Hi there! My name is Anna or the Wandering Writer. This is my get-to-know-me post before diving into the more structured blogging I have planned.
The Basics
I’m a college graduate from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing. This past year I interned for a Big Five publisher and am currently looking for a full-time job, hopefully in publishing. I’ve written two novels so far and have a few more ideas bopping around in my mind. My favorite authors have to be Leigh Bardugo, Neil Gaiman, Elizabeth Lim, and Roshani Chokshi (though there are probably many more).
I largely write Fantasy, and I typically stick to the higher end of it. My first fully-written novel is a high fantasy story with swords, magic, and dragons. My second one is a historical fantasy retelling, with the most magic, murder, and mystery you can imagine. My latest idea can only be pitched as Selkie pirate goes to rescue her estranged sister from the evil pirate lord. I am also interested in branching out into other genres and age groups if the idea presents itself.
What am I even doing?
This started as a vague idea in the back of my brain where I might be able to share my insights into the wonderful ramblings of a writer. Besides, it honestly just seems like fun and a way to build my own sort-of safe space here on the Internet.
